Harvest Project Autumn 2019

A very enjoyable coffee morning was held in the home of one of our parishioners to raise money for our Send a Cow Harvest Appeal.

The magnificent Refreshment Team in the photo maintained their delightful cheerfulness all morning as they served coffee and cake to a constant flow of visitors.

The support from St Cross and Plumley residents was very encouraging. Some people had already heard of the charity and were very interested in this project which will provide training and materials to start local coffee growing businesses in some remote villages of Rwanda.

The produce table was laden with donations of jam, chutney, homemade granola, biscuits and cake and cuttings from plants. Business was brisk as everyone gathered round and a wonderful overall total of £544 was finally collected.

Many thanks for such gratifying generosity and a sincere concern to help Rwandan families help themselves to take an important step in their journey out of poverty.
