WELCOME HOME ALJA! The Pilgrim Returns!

Rev Alja Tollefsen returns to St Cross after her sabbatical pilgrimage

Our Vicar, Revd Alja Tollefsen returns to lead us in worship this week (First Sunday back will be 5th November) She has completed her mammoth bike ride from Canterbury to Rome. Not only that but on arrival in Rome, Alja and her 2 companions, Agnes(a Calvinist) and Monic ( a Roman Catholic) were invited to an Ecumenical Eucharist. On the Wednesday after their arrival in Rome, the trio were granted an audience with Pope Benedict. Having completed the journey of approximately 1600 miles, Alja admits there were one or two dark times on the way. This journey of pilgrimage is a real achievement. The parish is very proud of her.
