Life
can be an exciting journey, a difficult journey, a puzzling journey -- but for
everyone it is a journey. We try to walk openly and honestly with others
as we learn to grow in God’s love. We believe that God's love is unconditional
and inclusive, and aim to help people in our community to experience something
of this.
Our worship centres around the Holy Communion (Eucharist), the key Christian service which we celebrate several times every week.
We do welcome children to our worship, and are happy as they join in, in their own way. For children who come with their parents, there is a Children's Corner with books and activities to keep small ones interested during the service. We have special seasonal activities, such as Christmas Crafts. 'Sunbeams' is a group for 0-5 year-olds meeting during the 10am service on the 2nd Sunday in each month -- the children explore Bible stories.
After the main 10 am service, coffee is served and people gather in friendship.
It is great when parents bring their son or daughter for Baptism. We usually baptise at the All Age Worship service on the first Sunday of each calendar month. All the family is invited. Parents receive the Baptism certificate, and a candle for their child. All the congregation welcomes them into God's family.
We also have activities for older children and young people,
and social events for all.
Mothers' Union meet at 2pm on the first Wednesday of the month.
The church hall, on the side of the church, is used for various meetings, and by Mums & Toddlers, Kumon, Music Tots, and other groups not affiliated to the Church.
The parish magazine, 'The St. Cross Chronicle', is published once a month. It has news, letters, articles, a childrens's page, a puzzle page, and an insert from Chester Diocese.
